Beans

The word bean has germanic roots since before the 12th century, but the New World genus of Phaseolus and Vigna have all fallen under that same terminology. In fact almost anything resembling a bean - including cocoa and vanilla beans. The UN definition of Dried Beans however is narrowed to only seeds of the species family Phaseolus.
